NICK UEMURA
VP/Pacific Rim Marketing
Nick Uemura was born in Tokyo 1964. His family has lived in Tokyo for over 200 years. Nick became the 10th generation in his family tree.
Nick started his professional career in feature films and music videos in 1983.
In 1995 Nick moved to LA and worked as a freelance commercial producer for various Japanese production companies shooting in the US and Asia.
As a bilingual agency producer Nick became a great asset to both agencies and production companies in both live action and print ad campaigns. He has traveled extensively doing research of foreign production companies on behalf of agencies. On many occasions agencies would request a production company to hire Nick to insure smooth communications and the best prices.
Nick is also an expert in post-production. His ability to supervise the editing or re-editing of a US commercial into Japanese sensibilities is very valuable.
Nick has worked with mega production companies and adv. agencies that include TOHOKUSHINSHA FILM CORP. and DENTSU TEC. Nick also worked for agencies that include DENTSU, HAKUHODO, TOKYU AGENCY, McCANN ERICKSON, OGILVY, and GRAY WORLDWIDE.
Countries Nick has produced in include INDIA, THAILAND, MAINLAND CHINA and AUSTRALIA. He has also worked with American star talent including Sir. ANTHONY HOPKINS for Japanese spots.
In 2001, Nick became a freelance production company producer/agency producer. Because of Nick's incredible foreign connections and experience, THE DIRECTORS NETWORK (TDN) signed Nick as their first specialized production consultant on Pacific Rim productions and Agent.
Nick runs the TDN Tokyo office.
