Brian began his career producing low-budget horror films for Full Moon Entertainment in Romania where he worked on over twenty late-night cable classics including the never-critically acclaimed “Beach Babes from Beyond” and “Subspecies II the Bloodlust” where he diligently studied the various styles of how best to film topless women being chased by fire breathing, chain saw wielding, two headed puppets.
He returned to Los Angeles to start working on some of the biggest and most forgotten commercial campaigns, music videos and t.v. shows of what we now call the internet boom: anyone remember Compuserve; the Jenny McCarthy Show; and Michael Jackson’s infamous $8 Million music video HIStory? (Brian is still hounded by the tabloids about his rumored affair with Lisa Marie Presley)
Brian’s producing career led him to work with some of the spot industry’s biggest names and with that came their Ego’s. He began to understand that the Director’s job on a commercial really is to be the craftsman’s hands that help bring an agency’s idea to Life.
Then on the counsel of the very director’s he was producing for he wrote, produced and directed his first spec spot for Airwalk Snowboards, which ran during the Winter X-Games. Brian has been directing T.V. commercials for the last 6 years and has just completed his first feature length documentary, “Conversations with Steve Dolben” which has won a number of awards and most recently played at the Chinese Mann Theater. The film is about a mother’s journey through her son’s addiction and what it takes to pull your self up by the bootstraps, jump into life and tell the truth.
He is currently penning his first novel “I’ll Eat Worms with You.”
Brian lives in Venice, California.
