DINH LONG THAI

Director / Editor

DINH LONG THAI is an innovative & wildly creative young director/editor whose star is on the rise. He's worked with some of the commercial worlds biggest clients including Nike, Converse, Vans, Starbucks & Footlocker.

Born in Vietnam, Dinh's family fled to Paris, France, finally settling in Southern California at the age of 6. The youngest of six, Dinh quickly adapted to his multi-ethnic surroundings. His visual influence derives from a blend of American pop culture and Asian tradition. His current body of work contains a mixture of the things he deems important; otherworldly love, narrative storytelling, unexpected humor, youthfulness, and last but not least, sneakers.

After fully developing his photographic eye at Pasadena City College, Thai's dream was to create a visual autobiography (which he is still developing) so he enrolled at Art Center College of Design Pasadena to study film and art. While at Art Center he was fortunate enough to help develop and teach an Art Center Kids filmmaking class titled, "Behind The Scenes". After years of learning, practicing and teaching he went on to direct and edit commercials for Kids Footlocker, Nike and Wieden+Kennedy. Dinh recently wrapped a Nike Basketball short documentary titled, "1Love" which he directed, shot and edited. "1Love" is now the foundation of product and marketing development.

Prior to Art Center, Dinh was a Product Development Supervisor for PLACO TOYS, INC., in LA and Hong Kong. He worked with artists, sculptors, manufacturers and licensors to create the proper representation of licensed film and TV characters.

Dinh's interests include, family, friends, children, basketball, video games, technology, photography, travel, learning, sneakers and noodles.
