Big Machine Design (BMD) specializes in motion graphics and visual effects for advertising. BMD produces, shoots, designs, animates and edits all of its projects out of its Hollywood, CA based studios.

BMD was founded in April 2003 by Steve Petersen and Ken Carlson. Both partners have more than 2 decades of combined experience in the broadcast and design business.

Steve Petersen is Co-Founder and Executive Producer of BMD. Steve’s background as an award-winning broadcast promotions producer and editor has provided a solid foundation for building BMD’s multi-media and client-centered services.

Ken Carlson is Co-Founder and Creative Director of BMD. Ken’s background as a producer and director of photography compliments BMD’s arsenal of postproduction skills with extensive live action shooting experience.
